Spirituality is one’s capacity to be guided.

I think there’s a lot of fluff out in the new age/new world/spiritual world, and I’m not quite sure what to call it. Or maybe a better way to describe it would be that I believe there are a lot of buzzwords being used. Words like abundance, success, law of attraction, and being spiritual.

Don’t get me wrong—I’m not saying these words are bad—I’m just saying maybe these words are misused and sometimes they’re misused for personal gain. When encountering these words use a questioning attitude.

In the last few years I considered myself a spiritual person, but I still considered the word Spirituality to be a buzzword. So I really love the above quote; it’s a great definition. It’s short, sweet, simple, and to-the-point.

Spirituality is not drinking smoothies, mediating, wearing funny clothes, being in nature, and crystal rocks. None of these things are bad—I even do most of them. But they will not make you spiritual. And they definitely won’t make you any better than your fellow brothers and sisters in humanity.

I would add to my definition of spirituality that we are human beings that see the rest of humanity as our family and God’s children, and we are no better or worse than anyone.

Being spiritual is knowing you have a Divine gift inside you and the world needs that gift. And the ability to be guided from intuition, heart, soul, Universe, God—whatever works for you. It’s the ability to get out of your way. Another way of saying it is to NOT listen to your programmed/conditioned/trained thoughts . . . thoughts from the past create a lot of fear.

When you follow your guidance, that’s when life becomes real fun, juicy, delicious, and adventurous. It’s the ability to be able to change to BE and Do what the Divine plan is for you.

We can change this world and make it better and more beautiful. YES, we human beings can do this and live in an amazing world for all. Everybody has their little part do in this new world of harmony, love, abundance, freedom, joy, and peace for all. The way to do this is to learn how to BE a Divine vessel by healing yourself from the past and to know you’re not what your thoughts tell you.

Find your true purpose inside you and share it with the world. Another way to look at this is that everyone is a part of an orchestra, and we all have our instrument or note to play. When we don’t follow the conductor, there’s chaos and when we all do, there’s harmony.

How to Be Spiritual:

When you’re with human beings, say to yourself, I’m no better or worse than these people. I am worthy just being myself. I don’t need approval.

Follow that internal guidance that wants to do something today for your fellow human beings in love, compassion, and kindness. It could be something simple like saying, Hi and smiling at a stranger.

Who’s going to the win the battle—your fearful programmed thoughts or your courageous heart?

Today I will NOT judge anyone, and that means yourself, too. This also means the government, businesses, and people from other countries. Last time I checked, we were all human beings. Who’s going to win this war—your mind full of conditioned thoughts or your pure Divine self?

The moment I have realized God sitting in the temple of every human body, the moment I stand in reverence before every human being and see God in him—that moment I am free from bondage, everything that binds vanishes, and I am free.
